The Pierre Governor track and Field team would host 26 teams at the Legion Relays on Friday as the Governor boys would place third and the girls fifth grabbing three individual wins and break two school records.
Pierre
For the Governors, Kali Ringstmeyer would win the 100 meter run setting a new PR while Charlee Williams-Smith would win the 400 meter run also setting anew PR and Caleb Morris would PR with a 800 meter run for the boys. The team of Carter Schiefelbein, Carter Merrill, Will Danburg and Eladio Simental would get second in the 4×200 relay but set a new school record with the time of 129.52. in the 4×200 for the girls, Emlyn Swanson, Williams-Smith, Brooke Hansen and Ringstmeyer would also get second and set a new school record at 1:43.16. Other top finishes for the Governors were Colter Babcock placing second in the javelin, second for Morris in the 1600 meter run, second for Ringstmeyer in the 200 meters and third place finishes for Carter Norton in the 400 meter run, Karson Walti, Simental, Schiefelbein and Danburg in the 4×100, Schiefelbein, Norton, Steven Blanchette and Simental in the 4×400 and Corde Austin in the long jump. For the girls, Emery Larson was third in the 1600 meter run and Swanson third in the long jump, The team of Swanson, Williams-Smith, Josephine Wurtz and Lennix DuPris would get third in the 4×400.
Sully Buttes
The Sully Buttes Chargers would get a top five finish from Annaliese Van Zee in the Javelin throw and Payge Bakker would be sixth in the discus. Atticus Miles would be eighth in the javelin.
Stanley County
Stanley County had two top ten finishes as Paxton Deal would get fourth in the Long jump and the team of Spencer Sargent, Brendon Bothwell, Rylan Magee and Justin Trebbe would be ninth in the 4×800 relay.
