FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Stanley County School District has been awarded 25-thousand dollars from the Casey’s convenience store chain. The money is coming to Stanley County by way of the Casey’s Cash for Classrooms grant program. The money will be used by the Stanley County School District for refurbishing band and choir rehearsal space to enhance the room’s acoustics. That renovation will include new electrical wiring, carpet, acoustic tiles and other upgrades to serve band and choir services. The renovations will also create better organization and comfort for students. Grants in the Cash for Classrooms program range from three-thousand to 50-thousand dollars. Stanley County must use the 25-thousand dollar grant within 12 months of the grant award. Stanley County music teacher Tina England says the District is excited to complete the music department upgrades with the money from Casey’s saying the chain is a great community partner that gives back to many schools across it’s territory.
