FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Fort Pierre City Council is meeting tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room. The Council will hear updates from city officials before moving into the main agenda. The Council will recognize the city’s water department as it’s been awarded an award of excellence and Council members will hear an update from the Pierre/Fort Pierre Historic Preservation Commission. An update on the Stanley County School District’s planned improvements to track and football fields are on the agenda along with setting a public hearing for temporary liquor license request. The Council will consider approval of a temporary liquor license and will consider a resolution that would rescind a previously approved resolution from 2023. Council members will award chip and crack seal bids, amend an engineering proposal for the Fort Pierre Maintenance Yard and consider accepting a resignation and authorizing the advertising for a replacement. The Fort Pierre City Council meets tonight at six pm. The meeting is open to the community.
