Tonight the Lyman Raiders will battle region foe the Gregory Gorillas in the Class B SoDak 16 as the 5-12 matchup at Todd County looking to get back to the state tournament.
It’s a rare spot to have the two teams coming out the same region to meet up in the SoDak 16, but the Raiders and Gorillas will meet at Todd County in a rematch of the regular season contest held in Presho on January 27. The Gorillas won the game 72-60 improving to 8-2 at the time as it was the fifth win in a row and continued the winning streak to where it stands right now at 17 in a row. Gregory beat Marty by 31 and Corsica-Stickney by 35 to reach the SoDak 16. The Raiders are coming in at 14-6 and have won three in a row including beating Burke and Lower Brule in the Region 5B tournament. Lyman will look to overcome the 12 point loss at the neutral site to reach the state tournament. Lyman last reached the state tournament in the 2021-22 season.
Tip off from Todd County schools is scheduled for 7:00 tonight.
