The Stanley County Buffaloes went into the locker room down six at the break, but came away with a five point win 65-60 over Mobridge-Pollock to secure the number two seed in Region 6A.
The Buffs and Tigers were fighting for home court advantage in a potential SoDak 16 qualifying game next week. Stanley County trailed 37-31 at the break but then led by one after three 54-53 and were able to hold on with big shots down the stretch by Kaden Montana. Eddie Duffy was consistent throughout the game matching the game high 21 points with Mobridge-Pollock’s Jackson Eisemann. Paxton Deal finished with 19 for the Buffs and Montana had 14. Stanley County finishes the season at 15-5 and falls just 0.15 seed point average away from the top seed in Region 6A. Mobridge-Pollock also had 17 from Shane Henderson and 13 from Kale Knudson as the Tigers finish the season with Todd County Saturday and head into the playoff as the three seed in the region.
Stanley County will host Crow Creek in the 2-7 matchup on Tuesday in Fort Pierre. Stanley County will host its way through the Region tournament as long as they pick up wins.
