PIERRE, (KCCR) — District 24 Representative Will Mortenson of Fort Pierre had two wins Tuesday with bills he’s backing during this year’s legislative session. House Bill 1129 would allow certain vehicles to be transferred to someone when the owner passes away…
Mortenson told the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday South Dakota already uses a similar process for other assets…
Committee Member, District 24 Senator Jim Mehlhaff was the only member to comment on the bill…
House Bill 1129 passed Senate Judiciary six-zero and was certified for the consent calendar in the Senate meaning it will be approved with other bills unless removed from the calendar. Barring removal from the consent calendar and approval of the calendar, the bill is headed to Governor Larry Rhoden for further consideration. Mortenson’s other bill HB 1133, to remove bonding requirements for notaries and personal representatives also passed favorably.
