The Stanley County Buffaloes found themselves down by 22 in the first half and by 20 late in the third. The Buffs battled all the way back to take the lead in the final minute, but a last second three by Conway Collins went through for a 64-62 win for the Lyman Raiders on Monday.
Stanley County struggled to score in the first half and trailed 37-17 at the break and then added 24 points alone in the third quarter even though trailing by 16. The Buffs held the Raiders to just seven points in the fourth while threes began to rain in down the stretch as Stanley County hit five in the fourth and a total of nine in the game. Eddie Duffy and Paxton Deal were held without any points in the first half but still had double digits as Duffy finished with a team high 16 points and Deal and Montana each having 13. Collins hit a three with four seconds left and Deal had a tough look in the final second, but just missed.
Stanley County falls to 14-5 and will close the season on Friday at home facing Mobridge-Pollock for the potential second seed in Region 6A. Tip off is around 6:00.
