Wesley Wittler would hit a runner with four seconds remaining in the game and the Sully Buttes boys would knock off Lower Brule 55-54 at the Warner Classic on Saturday.
Wittler, who left Thursday’s game being dinged up, had no lingering issues on the stat sheet on Saturday. He lit up Lower Brule for a game high 27 points while Gavin Colson had 12 as the two Chargers in double figures. Elliot LaRoche had a team high 15 points for Lower Brule as the win improved the Chargers to 14-4 on the season as the Sioux fall to 11-7. It’s a big seed point win for the Chargers who will face North Central on Friday to close the season at home with the Thunder being under .500.
