Govs Take Home ESD Title

The Pierre Governor girls wrestling team would score nearly 200 points en route to an ESD team title on Thursday in Huron. Pierre scored a 198 while Watertown placed second at 108.

The Govs beat out second by 90 points thanks in part to Shaylee Speck, Dani Ringstmeyer, Kezrey Benning, Ireland Templeton and Abbi Lewis all winning their respective weight classes. Pierre not only won five weight classes, they also reached the championship match in another three classes as Lexie Hillmer, Kyanne Traversie-Johnson and Brylee Pelle all made the championship match on Thursday. No Governor finished outside of a third place match.
