The Pierre Governor basketball teams will face their ESD rival Huron Tigers tonight as the Governor boys will host the Tigers while the girls will be back on the road.
The Governor girls are playing its third road game in the last four games in the past week. The Governors are 2-1 so far in those games with the loss to Tea on Saturday. Pierre, at 7-6, sit in eighth place in the AA standings while their opponent, Huron at 7-8, are in 13th place. Pierre will need a win on the road at the Huron Arena tonight. Pierre is also on the fourth game of five of six on the road.
The Governor boys will get back on the court after the win in Yankton on Tuesday last week. Pierre is 5-8 on the season and in 13th in the AA standings. They face the 10-5 Tigers who is in seventh place. Huron has won four of five and while being at the beginning of the season, Huron beat both Harrisburg and Mitchell in back-to-back games. Both the Tigers and Kernels have only two losses on the season and are top four in the state.
Both games will be on the air as the boys game will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports and the girls game on Capital City Rock. Both games will tip off at 7:00 tonight.
