The Oahe Lady Capitals were unable to extend Aberdeen’s losing streak on Saturday as the Cougars get their first win since mid December in a 3-1 game at the Expo Center in Fort Pierre.
Rachel Siefken would score first in the first period to give the Cougars the lead in which they never relinquished as Addyson Keller and Kaylee Dixon each scored in the second period to get the Cougars a 3-0 lead through two periods. Brylee Kafka would score to make it 3-1 with five minutes remaining in the third, but it wasn’t enough to spark the comeback as the Caps drop their third straight. Sophia Peschong made 27 saves on 30 shots while Chloe Vikander in her return from injury made 21 saves on 22 shots.
Oahe is now 10-6 and will host Aberdeen again on Sunday. Coverage of the game begins around 10:25 with puck drop at 10:45 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
