The Pierre Governor wrestling teams would both get big wins on Thursday over the Mitchell Kernels as the Governor boys would win 68-9 and the Gov girls winning 54-6.
The Governor girls would get wins from Layne Heasley, Gemma Stangeland and Kezrey Benning all by way of fall. Shaylee Speck would get a tech fall win while Lexie Hillmer had a major decision win and Abbi Lewis a decision win as the Govs finish the dual season undefeated.
The Governor boys made sure they picked up the final win of the season as they dropped just two matches all night. Gable Uhrig, Jyles Auble, Joey Franks, Alex Oedekoven, Rowdy Menning, Max Hunsley, Sam Larson, Kalo Steely, Elijah Boutchee and Devin Binger all finished with fall wins for the Governors. Porter Hunsley picked up a tech fall win and Will Eilers had a major decision win as Pierre finishes the regular season at 8-5 and will await to see their fate this weekend with the dual state tournament approaching next weekend.
