Both the Oahe Capitals boys and girls varsity teams are in the stretch run of the season and both have two games this weekend with a lot of playoff implications once again.
The Lady Capitals want to turn the page from the two losses against the Mitchell Marlins last weekend and turn them into two wins against the Aberdeen Cougars. Aberdeen hasn’t played since losing 6-5 in overtime to Oahe back on January 25. With seven straight losses, Oahe wants to see the number reach nine and getting a three game season sweep of the Cougars.
The boys team will see Aberdeen tonight before heading to Mitchell on Saturday. The Caps want to avenge both losses to the Cougars and Marlins after Aberdeen won 5-2 in early January and Mitchell won 5-4 last Saturday. A win this weekend is a must for the Caps to keep pace looking to make the state tournament.
The boys have puck drop at 8:00 both at home tonight and in Mitchell on Saturday. Jon Winkler will have the call of both games. The girls have puck drop at 3:00 Saturday and 10:45 AM on Sunday. Dylan Simmons will have the call on Saturday and Jon Winkler on the call on Sunday. All games are on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
