Misty Larson, one of the coaches for the Pierre Governor Track and Field team has been named a finalist for the Boys Track and Field Coach of Year for 2025.
The National High School Athletic Coaches Association select eight finalists for the National Coaches of the Year. Larson is invited to the National Convention which will be held in Rapid City at the end of June. It’s a big honor for the Larson, the athletes in who she has coached, the community of both Pierre and her previous school of Chester along with the state of South Dakota. Larson joined the Governors this year a part of the Track and Field program. She previously was in Chester
Dan Mitchell of Beresford won the Boys Assistant Coach of the Year in 2024.
