Gettysburg, Hoven To Dissolve Potter County Co-op

At Wednesday’s Board of Directors Meeting, the state board approved the dissolvement of the Potter County Co-op between Gettysburg and Hoven which will end at the end of the school year.

In December of last year, Gettysburg and Hoven’s Co-op Committees met with two different proposals with one being to stay as a Co-Op and the other to dissolve the Potter County Co-Op. According to the Hoven school website, (which can be found as the first pdf at the bottom of the article) Gettysburg sent Hoven the proposal in which Gettysburg would hire the one athletic director for the two schools along with all practices, games and events would be hosted at Gettysburg unless the Hoven gym was needed for overflow and gate revenue will remain with the host site. For the most part, all other parts of the Co-op would remain the same. Nine days letter, Gettysburg would hand deliver a letter to the Hoven School district to clarify the intent of the Gettysburg Strategic Planning Committee’s meeting in September which was to also explore consolidation of the two districts. (Second pdf file) The next day, Hoven sent a letter to the Gettysburg School Board and Administration to accept Gettysburg’s proposal to dissolve the sports co-op starting in the 2025-26 school year and decline Gettysburg’s request to consolidate exploration at this time (Third PDF).

The Board of Directors approved the dissolvement as part of the consent agenda. You can see the full pdf’s in order from Gettysburg proposal, letter of clarification and intent and Hoven’s response.
