Both Pierre Governor basketball teams would get the win on Tuesday over the Douglas Patriots as the girls would win 62-19 and the boys 65-39.
The Governor girls had no problems getting past the now 0-9 Patriots at home. The Governors forced 31 turnovers on the Patriots and had nine different players score in the win to improve to 4-3 on the season. Lennix DuPris would get the game high 21 points as she had 11 in the second quarter alone. Both Gracelyn Taylor and McKenzi Flottmeyer each had eight and Emery Larson and Molly Olson had seven for the Govs. Pierre led 20-4 after the first quarter and had the running clock enacted at half time with a 43-10 win.
The Governor boys would play close in the first half as they extended a three point lead to a nine point advantage at the break. Pierre outscored Douglas 25-8 to get the lead up to 30 at one point in the third to get the running clock enacted. The Governors, now at 3-5, were led by Dawson Getz’s 25 points on seven threes. Eladio Simental had 12 and Luke Olson finished with eight.
