The Oahe Capitals boys varsity team will be on the road for three games this weekend starting in Watertown tonight, Brookings on Saturday and finishing with Brandon Valley on Sunday.
The Capitals dropped to 4-6 on the season and have lost three straight for the second time this season, but will need to break the losing skid tonight against a team right next to them in the standings. Watertown is at 5-4-0-1 on the season and are in seventh place in the standings. The Caps in ninth, need wins over the Lakers as the standings start to separate themselves and Oahe is fighting for one of the final two positions in the state tournament.
Then on Saturday, the Caps get their first crack at the defending state champions Brookings. The Rangers are 8-1 on the season with the only loss to Sioux Falls West. Brookings has won seven in a row and will face Sioux Falls East tonight before hosting the Caps on Saturday.
Then on Sunday, the Caps will look for a season sweep of Brandon Valley. Oahe beat the IceCats 5-2 back on December 21 and Brandon Valley is at 1-8 on the season and will also face Sioux Falls East on Saturday.
