Pierre School Board To Hold First Meeting Of New Year Tonight

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre School Board is holding its first meeting of 2025 tonight at the District Administration Building on Poplar Avenue. The Board will spend time at the beginning of the meeting to recognize the Lakota National Invitational team champions before approving a seven-item consent calendar. Superintendent Dr. Kelly Glodt will speak to the Board before Board members will be given time to comment. Board members will hear an update from the Riggs Student Senate and any comments from the community in attendance. The Board will hear an update on the Tri-M program and will consider approval of a city/school board election date and joint election agreement with Pierre and Hughes County. Board members will consider first reading of two policy changes and the disposition of two surplus bids. Other agenda items include action on an architect contract and discussion on a construction manager at-risk and issue requests for proposals of district building updates. The Board will also consider approval of the current legal calendar, donations, open enrollments, retirements and resignations and contract items. The Pierre School Board meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
