Capital Girls Split Weekend Games to Start 2025

The Oahe Capital girls team would hold on Sunday to beat Watertown 2-1, but would fall 4-0 to Sioux Falls on Saturday as they sit at 9-2 on the season.

On Saturday, the Flyers would shutout the Capitals with a 4-0 win as Marissa Ready would get a 22 save shutout as the Caps were unable to crack through. After a scoreless first period, Adraina Clark would net the game winner just seven seconds into the second period giving the Flyers a 1-0 lead as Neely Meyer and Rebecca Harris would score in the second before Aniston Murray finished off the game with a goal in the third. Sophia Peschong made 21 saves on 25 shots.

On Sunday, the Capitals got two goals from Brylee Kafka as she now has 20 on the season in 11 games as Oahe led 2-1 with four minutes remaining in the first. The score would hold up which included a 6-on-4 chance for the Watertown Lakers in the final minute and a half of the game. Peschong made 21 saves on 22 shots which included 14 saves in the final two periods.
