Oahe Capitals Set for Busy Weekend to Kick Off 2025

Both the Oahe Capitals boys and girls varsity teams will get the new year started with two games on Saturday and Sunday, all at home.

The Capitals girls, at 8-1, will get a big test against Sioux Falls on Saturday. The Caps take on the undefeated Flyers, who are 11-0 heading into 2025. The Flyers have allowed just 15 goals in the 11 games. Sioux Falls has already swept both Rushmore and Brookings for the season. Then on Sunday, Oahe will look for the season sweep of Watertown with the Lakers in town at 1-7-1 playing Mitchell on Saturday.

For the Capital boys, Oahe is at 4-3 and have won four straight, but the tests are tough this weekend hosting both Sioux Falls teams. Oahe gets Sioux Falls East on Saturday and are 7-2 on the season with the only two losses to Rushmore. The Flyers East team has won seven in a row. Then on Sunday, Sioux Falls West will be in town and are 6-1 on the season. The two teams played on Thursday for the first time this year.

Coverage begins at 1:10 on Saturday for the Caps and Flyers girls game, followed by a 6:55 pregame start for the boys game Saturday night. Then on Sunday, the boys will play first at 10:45 AM and the girls have puck drop at 2:30. All four games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
