Pierre Resumes Season with Governor’s Cup as Boys Host, Girls Travel

The first games on the 2025 calendar has the Pierre Governors facing its out of state rival, Bismarck, for the Governor’s Cup on Saturday as the boys will host the Demons and the girls will travel north.

Both Governor teams are 2-2 on the season with the girls going 1-1 in each of the two weekends to open the year. The Demons are also 2-2, but started 2-0 and have dropped its last two games. Katelyn Luther has been the leading scorer a 10.8 points per game, the only player in double figures. Lennix DuPris has been leading the Govs through the first four games in scoring.

The Bismarck boys team is also 2-2 on the year averaging 100 points per game in wins and 63.5 points per game in the two losses. Andre Austin leads the Demons with nearly 20 points per game while another three players are averaging nine points per game. Luke Olson, Dawson Getz and Corde Austin have led the Govs through the first four games of the year.

Tip off for both games are at 3:00 with the boys playing at Riggs High School and the girls up at Bismarck High School.
