The Oahe Capitals will win all three games over the weekend as the Caps beat Rushmore 8-1 Friday, 4-3 over Watertown on Saturday and a 4-2 win on Sunday in Watertown.
Friday, the Capitals would get a four goal game from Brylee Kafka as the Caps led 5-1 after two periods. Emily Nemec, Addison Hunsley, Kierstan Miller and Kallee Behm would all score in the win. Sophia Peschong made 10 saves on 11 shots in the win.
Then on Saturday, the Caps had to battle back from a 3-1 deficit in the second period after Harper Hendricks had a hat trick for the Lakers. But it was Behm and Mallory Lehrkamp who would score late in the second period to tie the game at 3-3. Then in the third with just three minutes remaining, Behm would net the game winner on an unassisted goal, her second of the game to lead the Caps to a second win on the weekend. Kylee Fromm made 18 saves on 21 shots.
On Sunday, Kafka wasted no time scoring the first goal of the game in the first minute of the first. Aubrey Stewart and Kafka would score in the second period to lead 3-0 after two. Kafka would finish off the hat trick midway through the third period. Watertown scored two late third period goals by Hendricks. Peschong made 24 saves on 26 shots.
The Capitals are now 8-1 on the season and will face Sioux Falls and Watertown on Saturday and Sunday January 4and 5. Puck drop is at 1:30 on Saturday on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
