South Dakota State, the number three seed in the FCS Playoffs will get a home game against last year’s national championship opponent in Montana on Saturday in the second round of the playoffs.
Last year the Jacks would get a 23-3 championship win, the second straight NCAA FCS title in a playoff run in which they allowed just 15 points. Now, Montana comes in as the 14 seed beating Tennessee State at home last Saturday 41-27. Montana is 9-4 while the Jacks are 10-2 with its only loss to Oklahoma State and North Dakota State, both on the road. Jimmy Rogers, head coach of South Dakota State says the Montana Tennessee state game was a physical football game…
Rogers says there are some things that are the same from last year’s team, but still a change in personnel makes them different…
Rogers says the Jacks can’t get caught up in what they’ve done to this point…
Kickoff from Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium is at 1:00 on Saturday.
