Gymnastics to Begin Season in Huron

The Pierre Governor gymnastics team will be on the road tonight in Huron as the season opens before hosting the home event on Saturday.

The Governor gymnastics team has several returning from last year’s squad. However, the Governors graduate Nevaeh Karber, who had the best finish of any Governor from last year’s team at the state meet which was held in Pierre. Karber was the only senior last year. Now, the Governors have Kirsten Korber, Isabel Jirsa, Ryen Sheppick, Emelia Loe and KaCee Wilson as seniors who have been a part of the varsity roster. Rebecca Feller, head coach of the Pierre Governors says the girls had a good year last year and want to continue to improve…

Feller says having only a couple of teams in Huron, it is nicer to start the year in more of a low-key meet…

Feller says a key is to not have any falls tonight…

The Huron invite will begin at 5:30 tonight at the Huron Arena.
