The 11B state champions, Winner Warriors enjoyed the success of having the second most players on the All-State team with four, but also had the All-American with Shawn Hammerbeck.
Hammerbeck dealt with injuries and illness over the year as he wasn’t in the lineup as consistently compared to other years, but the senior has committed to play at Nebraska next year which shows just how good he is and really a no brainer for the All-American award. While he didn’t lead the tackles this year, Hammerbeck was a presence to help the Warriors win the Class 11B state title game 20-14 over Sioux Valley. Winner also had Gus Bartels, Evan Bartels and Karson Keiser make the All-State teams with all being seniors. Kellen Brozik was selected to the honorable mention for 11B. Sioux Valley would have the most on the team with seven players.
