The Miller Rustlers will begin its postseason journey tonight and needing just the one win to reach the SoDak 16 as they host the Platte-Geddes Black Panthers.
The two teams are state tournament teams from last season as Platte-Geddes went 32-8 and finished in sixth place after coming in ranked fourth. This year, though, after graduating six seniors, had to go on the road to defeat Cheyenne-Eagle Butte in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday night. The Black Panthers won in three sets and at 11-20, look to knock off one of the best teams in Class A. The Rustlers are 26-1 and want to get right back to the state tournament where they finished fourth last season. Miller’s only loss is to powerhouse Class B Warner. The Rustlers are on a 21 match winning streak and would be the number one overall seed in the SoDak 16 next Tuesday with a win tonight over Platte-Geddes.
First serve tonight from Miller high school is at 7:00.
