Huron Rallies to Beat Pierre in Four Sets on Senior Night

The Huron Tigers would overcome multiple deficits in the first three sets to win 30-32, 25-19, 25-23 and 25-17 against the Pierre Governors on senior night on Tuesday.

Pierre had a near 10 point lead in the first set in which the Tigers overcame which included five aces from Hailey Rogers. The two teams traded points before Pierre finally took the first set 32-30. Then, Pierre leading 16-7, Huron would score 18 of the last 23 points of the second set which put them up big early in the third set. While Pierre rallied to take a third set lead, Huron again came back to take the third set and finish out the night in the fourth to spoil senior night. Huron was led in kills by Aurora Dreyer with 11 while Samantha Mangmoradeth and Addyson Knight each had nine. Pierre was led by Jaycee Bauer, Campbell Cronin and Addison Soma all finishing with eight kills.

Pierre drops to 6-10 on the season while Huron improves to 7-12. The Governors will host O’Gorman in the final home game of the season on Friday on Dig Pink night. Coverage will start at 6:30 with first serve at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
