Governors Survive Yankton to End Four Game Skid

The Pierre Governors would put an end to its four game losing streak with a four set win over the Yankton Gazelles on Thursday 27-29, 25-19, 25-21 and 25-19.

The Governors were led in the first set by Kierra Gossman who had six of her 11 kills overall, as Campbell Cronin would lead the team with 13 kills in total and Jaycee Bauer finishing with nine. Pierre made less mistakes than the Gazelles on the evening as Yankton had 22 hitting errors and 12 service errors. Pierre finished with 45 kills, one of the most they’ve had in a match this season. Jade Jere would lead Yankton with nine kills and Joselyn Pearson had seven.

Pierre improves to 6-9 on the season while the Gazelles fall to 3-15. Pierre will host the Huron Tigers for senior night on Tuesday. Coverage will start at 6:30 with first serve at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
