The Pierre Governor football team would stop its four game skid last week on the road in Sturgis. Now the Govs want to win its final home game in the regular season against one of the top teams in the state in the Spearfish Spartans tonight.
The Governors are 3-4 on the season and host the 6-1 Spartans as Spearfish is the only team in 11AA with less than two losses. However, Spearfish is still in third place in the standings and have a seven point win over Huron and one loss is to Aberdene Central. Yet, the Spartans did beat the Watertown Arrows, whose only other loss is to 11AAA Jefferson. Steve Steele, head coach of the Pierre Governors say Spearfish has some good playmakers…
There are still plenty of scenarios that can change how the playoffs look, but as it stands right now, this looks to be the final game of the year at Hollister which includes the playoffs. Steele wants to send these seniors out with a win…
Steele says to get the win, they have to limit big plays tonight…
Coverage tonight begins at 6:30 with kickoff at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler and Blake Dean on the call.
