The Pierre Governor volleyball team will be at home once again tonight as the Governors take on the Yankton Gazelles in an ESD contest as the Govs look to stop its four game losing streak.
Pierre, at 5-9, are in 15th place in the AA standings and a win is a must against the 3-14 Gazelles who are on the outside looking in at the SoDak 16 playoffs. Yankton has lost its last three but are 2-4 overall in its last six games with wins over Vermillion and Mitchell. With where the Governors sit in the standings, Pierre will need at least one more win on the season to guarantee themselves a spot in the SoDak 16. Of the six games remaining only Yankton and next week Tuesday’s opponent Huron are below .500.
