Chargers Battle Panthers, Fall in Five Sets

The Sully Buttes Charger volleyball team started strong. but in the end, the Timber Lake Panthers committed fewer errors and knocked off Sully Buttes in five sets 26-28, 17-25, 25-22, 26-24 and 15-9 in Onida.

The 11-11 Panthers led by senior Jasmine Nash, who was masterful at the net, and junior Sara Keller, serving flawlessly from that position.

The 3-16 Chargers kept it close throughout the night with solid efforts by Annaliese Van Zee, Payge Bakker and Madison Bradberry up front, while libero Jadyn Jaeger and Cateri Yellowhawk turned in performances in their respective back row positions.

Sully Buttes will have to shake off the disappointment to hit the court Tuesday night in Highmore at the Hyde County Auditorium against the 7-12 Highmore-Harrold Pirates.

Meanwhile, Timber Lake will host the Lemmon Cowgirls Tuesday night.
