Tennis Begins State Tournament in Rapid City

The Pierre Governor tennis team will start its two day trip in Rapid City at the Class A State Tournament as several girls will make their state tournament debuts.

The Governors will see Bailey Jessen in singles flight one and Jessen with Ella Fisk in doubles flight one compete for the final time as a Governor as both seniors will look to end their careers on a strong note. Breanna Tedrow in flight two and Adrian Hand in flight six will compete for the second time in the state tournament while Elise Bowers in flight three, Amara Dell in flight four, Eliza Mayer in flight five and then Dell with Tedrow in doubles flight two and Bowers with Mayer in doubles flight three will be making their first state tournament appearances. Seeds don’t come out until Sunday night, although there is a good idea where everybody will sit, but Megan Bauck, head coach of the Pierre Governors says the ESD was a learning curve…

Brackets don’t come out until Sunday night so Bauck says most players want to know who they’re playing immediately and others don’t…
