In the second to final game of the season, the Pierre Governor soccer teams would travel to Huron as the girls team would keep Huron winless and scoreless on the season winning 10-0 while the boys would tie 0-0.
In the girls game, Lexie Hillmer would record a hat trick while Jasmine Jost would score twice and Gracelyn Taylor, Alice Rapp, Jersey Understock and Ireland Templeton would all record goals as Pierre cruises to an early win and improves to 9-3-1 as they remain a top three team in the standings. It’s Emyln Swanson’s fifth shutout of the season and third straight game without giving up a goal.
Jacob Leiferman would record his seventh shutout and also his third straight as the Governors and Tigers would tie 0-0. It’s the second scoreless tie for the Governors along with tying Stevens. Pierre is now 8-3-2 and should have home field in the playoffs next week, but can be assured home field with a win over Brookings on Thursday.
Both varsity teams will have kickoff at 5:00 on Thursday against Brookings to close out the regular season. There is still one AA game on Saturday which will delay seedings and parings until late Saturday or early Sunday.
