The Pierre Governor tennis team will be in Watertown over the next two days as the Governors will play in the ESD tournament.
Only the Huron Tigers could be state tournament competitors as the other seven teams are all in AA while the Govs and Tigers compete in Class A. The Governors in duals against the ESD are 1-8 with its lone win against the Brookings Bobcats. The Governors want a couple of strong first matches, especially those in the play-in games to try and help the Govs rack up points in the ESD team scores. While the new Governors to the varsity roster are becoming seasoned vets, it will be the first chance at the ESD tournament and state tournament which can be intimidating.
