In a match that featured two struggling volleyball teams, the Sully Buttes Chargers pulled it together to pick up the win 25-20, 25-17 and 25-9 over Sunshine Bible Academy Thursday night at the Sully Buttes gym in Onida.
The Chargers shook up their lineup, and the results looked promising. Although both teams still had too many unforced errors and each team having 13 service errors apiece, the Chargers had better court communication and movement, to help them pick up only their second victory of the season.
The Crusaders battled tooth and nail, diving for balls, but in the end the Chargers depth and net play was the difference.
The 2-11 Chargers, along with the 0-10 Crusaders are in Miller Saturday for the CSDC tournament at the Miller Armory-joining six other teams.
The next broadcast of Charger volleyball on Country 95.3FM is Tuesday in Gettysburg as the Chargers travel to take on the Potter County Lady Battlers. DT Meyer will have the call from the Gettysburg gym, with a 7:30 first serve.
