The Gregory Gorillas didn’t have a good first eight minutes of the game, but would hold the Stanley County Buffaloes scoreless in the final three quarters for a 44-16 win Friday night.
Stanley County would strike first, on the first play of the game with a 73 yard pass and catch from Paxton Deal to Brendon Bothwell. After a bad snap, Gregory would give a safety to the Buffs to make it an 8-0 game five minutes into the contest and Deal would get a rushing touchdown of seven yards and a two point conversion made it 16-0 seven and a half minutes into the contest. However, the Gorillas would take over after that. The Gorillas would score the final 24 points of the half to take the lead and then add another 20 points in the second half, shutting out the Buffs on the way to its second win of the season going to 2-3.
Stanley County falls to 1-4 on the season and will get undefeated Wall on Friday at home. Kickoff will be at 7:00 from Ole Williamson Field in Ft. Pierre.
