The Pierre Governor volleyball team will be looking for its third straight win tonight as the Mitchell Kernels come to town for the second ESD contest of the season.
The Governors improved to 2-2 on the year after a four set win over Douglas last Thursday, but will be looking for its first win in the ESD tonight against the 1-5 Kernels. Mitchell’s lone win came at the beginning of the season with a sweep over Sturgis, but since then have won just one set. The Kernels lost all four matches in Huron winning just one set against Brookings, and then were swept by Washington last Thursday. The Kernels have four seniors on the squad this season after graduating five from last year. The Governors have won six of the last eight sets after dropping the first six to start the season.
