The Pierre Governor volleyball team would get a close win over the Douglas Patriots on Thursday night in the first road game of the season to even the record at 2-2.
The Governors would take the first set 25-21, before Douglas would return the favor with a 25-21 second set win. Pierre would get the third set win 27-25 hanging on to take a 2-1 lead and then finish out the night with another 25-21 win getting its second straight win. Pierre was led in kills by Campbell Cronin with 15 while Jaycee Bauer had nine. The Govs finished with 15 aces. Douglas, who dropped to 2-6, was led by Kaylee Lancial who had a match high 25 kills for the Patriots as she had at least five kills in each of the four sets.
The Governors will have the weekend off before hosting the Mitchell Kernels on Tuesday. Coverage will start at 6:30 with first serve at 7:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
