The Pierre Governor soccer team will get right back on the road and play the fourth game in six days after playing Thursday through Saturday last weekend. Today, the Govs take on the Watertown Arrows.
The Governor girls team will be looking for its fifth win of the season as they sit inside the top five of the standings coming out of the Labor Day break. Pierre went 2-1 in its three games in three days to end last weekend. Pierre has outscored its opponents 15-6 in the first five games of the year. Watertown is at 2-4 on the year with wins over Sturgis and Brookings with four losses in between. They beat the Bobcats 2-1 last Thursday, but didn’t play on either Friday or Saturday. The Arrows are in 16th place heading into the today’s game.
The Governor boys look keep its unbeaten streak alive. After dropping the first game of the season, the Governors are now 3-0-1 since and are also in the top five of the AA standings post Labor Day. Pierre went 2-0-1 in its three games in three days with a 0-0 tie against Stevens and two one goal wins against Sturgis and Central. Watertown is coming in at 5-0-1 with only a tie to Yankton. The Arrows have scored at least two goals in every game and are outscoring its opponents 15-4 through six games.
Kickoff of the boys game will be first at 4:00 with the girls game to follow at 6:00 from Watertown.
