Coming off of one of the best seasons in recent history for the Stanley County volleyball team, the Lady Buffs open the season tonight in Chamberlain taking on the Cubs.
The Lady Buffs finished last season at 18-9, just one win shy of making the SoDak 16 and two wins shy of the state tournament. This year, though, Stanley County will have some spots to fill as the season begins. With seven seniors graduating from last year, the Lady Buffs will bring in some new faces. Stanley County did sweep Chamberlain last year in both contests, winning 3-0 at home at the beginning of the season and then a 2-0 win in the Big Dakota Conference Tournament, also at Parkview. Chamberlain finished the season at 6-24 falling in the first round of the Class A Region 5 tournament to Hanson. Stanley County won’t be at home until mid-September for a tournament and won’t be home for a regular season game until Tuesday, September 24 when they host Herried/Selby Area.
Varsity first serve will be around 7:30 from the Chamberlain High School tonight.
