Pierre City Commission To Meet Tonight

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The Commission will get an update on construction of the Department of Health’s Workforce Development and Education Center project before considering approval of a nine-item consent calendar. Two public hearings are on the agenda for 5:45 pm. The first is for a retail on-off sale malt beverage license while the second is for an ordinance revision regarding the timing for posting political campaign signs. Commissioners will consider approval of a roof rehabilitation project on the North Harrison water reservoir and will consider the abandonment of three drinking water wells no longer used by the city. The Commission will consider approval of two temporary liquor license requests both filed by the Longbranch in Pierre for events at the Missouri Avenue Events Center and two more budget presentations will be made. Reports will be made by the PAWS Animal Rescue and Visit Pierre and the Chamber Room. Commissioners will close out the meeting by presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
