The Pierre Governor Boys soccer team will have plenty of returning faces as they are set to begin the regular season this weekend hosting Aberdeen Central and Brookings.
The Governors will have the likes of Jacoby LaRoche and Caiden Ahartz return as starters who are entering their sophomore years while also having Javier Pretell Alegre, Caleb Morris, Lucas Hight and Alex Odekoven return for their junior campaign while Weston Northtrup, Cayden Morris, Owen Sivage, Steven Blanchette and Jacob Leiferman head into their senior year. The Governors will have a new coach at the helm, although its his second stint as head coach as Sean Blanchette takes over the coaching duties. Blanchette coached the team in both the 2017 and 2018 years, which was the fourth and fifth year of the Governor soccer team being sanctioned by the high school activities association.
