The Pierre Governor golf team will be on the road for the next two days as the Govs play at the Brandon Golf Course on Monday and Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls on Tuesday to begin the season.
Pierre will have the five seniors of Nick Bothun, Luke Olson, Sawyer Sonnenschein, Lincoln Houska and Jack Bartlett returning for the 2024 campaign with all having the high expectations of wanting to compete for a state championship, both individually and as a team. The two day tournament is a good look at the state tournament, which is the only other two day even for the Governors. It’s good to not get too high or too low after the first day and Benham says they have experience of not playing well on the first day and coming back and having a strong finish…
And Benham says they need to focus on their own game…
The Governors tee off at 2:00 today in Brandon and then at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
