PIERRE, (KCCR) — A pair of Hughes County roads will be closed today for road construction projects. The first of the projects is on Dunbar Road or 312th Avenue. A culvert under Dunbar Road is scheduled to be replaced, weather permitting. A detour is in place for local residents of the area however other travel is discouraged until the repairs are complete. The work on Dunbar Road should be completed by Friday August 16th, again, weather permitting. The other project is on 196th Street, three miles north of the Blunt Junction It will be closed to through traffic six miles west of the U-S Highway 83/14 junction starting today. Work on 196th Street is also expected to be completed by Friday weather permitting. Recommended detours of 196th are Highway 14 or 299th Avenue. Notice will be given by the Hughes County Highway Department when the projects are finished.
