Pierre City Commission To Meet Tonight

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The meeting will start in special business with a proclamation for Professional Engineer’s Day. Commissioners will consider approval of a six-item consent calendar before getting into a lengthy agenda. First reading will be given to an ordinance revision regarding the placement of political signs. A public hearing will also be set. The same will be done for a similar ordinance covering the extraterritorial areas around Pierre in Hughes County. Two proposed plats will be introduced by the Commission and a final change order and pay application will be made for the Griffin Park pickleball courts. Commissioners will consider approval of a construction agreement for Landfill Cell Four and two agenda items are connected to the final clarifier project at the wastewater treatment plant. The Commission will also have the first presentation of the new city budget and begin a series of budget presentations from various non-profits around Pierre and Fort Pierre. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
