Pierre Swim Team Finishes Summer Season with Long Course State A Swim Meet

Fourteen athletes represented Pierre Swim Team at the 2024 South Dakota Long Course State A Championship held July 19th-21st in Rapid City. Several swimmers had personal best times, with a few swimmers landing with top finishes.

In the Girls 8 & Under Division, we had 1 swimmers:

Sophia Lukkes: 100 back-4^th, 100 breaststroke-4^th, 200 IM-5^th, 50 free-6^th, 200 free-6^th, 50 back-7^th & 50 breaststroke-7^th. All State Qualifying times

In the Girls 9-10 Division, we had 1 swimmer:

Betty Lukkes: 400 free-2^nd, 100 fly-4^th, 200 free-4^th, 200 IM-6^th, 50 back-7^th, 50 breaststroke-8^th & 100 breaststroke-9^th. All State Qualifying times

In the Girls 13-14 Division, we had 1 swimmer:

Grace Hutton: 50 free-20^th (SDQ)

In the Girls 15-16 Division, we had 2 swimmers:

Sorrine Ekle: 800 free-4^th, 400 free-5^th, 1500 free-5^th, 50 free-12^th, 100 free-12^th & 200 free-15^th. All State Qualifying times
Charlie Hull: 100 back-5^th, 200 back-6^th, 200 IM-9^th, 50 free-9^th, 100 free-9^th, 400 free-9^th & 200 free-12^th. All State Qualifying times

In the Boys 8 & Under division, we had 3 swimmers:

Bentley Frost: 50 fly-1^st, 100 fly-1^st, 200 IM-1^st, 50 free-2^nd, 100 free-2^nd, 200 free-2^nd & 50 back-2^nd. All State Qualifying times & 2nd place High Point
Lawson Kroon: 100 free-3^rd, 100 back-3^rd, 50 breaststroke-3^rd, 100 breaststroke-4^th, 50 back-5^th, 200 free-6^th & 50 free-9^th All State Qualifying times & 4^th Place High Point.
Lucas Kroon: 100 back-5^th (SDQ), 50 breaststroke-8^th (SDQ), 100 free-10th, 50 free-12^th & 50 back-12^th(SDQ)

In the Boys 9-10 Division, we had 2 swimmers:

Callan Ekle: 100 free-15^th, 200 free-15^th, 50 back-16^th & 50 free-17^th. All State Qualifying times
Garrett Linn: 100 breaststroke-6^th, 50 breaststroke-7^th, 50 free-10^th, 200 free-11^th, 100 free-12^th, 100 back-12^th & 50 back-13^th. All State Qualifying times

In the Boys 11-12 Division, we had 1 swimmer:

Finley Ellwein: 50 fly-2^nd, 100 breaststroke-2^nd, 50 breaststroke-3^rd, 50 free-4^th, 100 free-4^th & 200 IM-4^th. All State Qualifying times

In the Boys 13-14 Division, we had 3 swimmers:

Maxwell Brosz: 400 free-16^th, 50 free-21^st, 100 free-21^st & 200 free-23^rd
Caleb Hutton: 100 free-3^rd, 50 free-4^th, 200 free-6^th, 100 fly-7^th, 200 IM-9^th & 100 back-12^th. All State Qualifying times.
Matthew Maritz: 50 free-20^th, 200 IM-21^st & 100 free-23^rd. All State Qualifying times.
