Zap Hang on for Final Regular Season Win

Zap Hang on for Final Regular Season Win

The season would come to an end for the Oahe Zap on Sunday night, but came to an end with a win over the best team in the Independence League this summer with a 8-7 win over the Casper Spuds.

After dropping Friday and Saturday’s games 8-4 and 20-5, the Zap had to hold on for the win on Sunday to avoid a 10 game losing streak to finish the season. Oahe built a 6-1 lead after four innings and added another two in the top of the seventh to lead 8-1. Casper would score two in the seventh and then get four runs in the bottom of the ninth to pull within one at 8-7, but the tying run would be stranded on at first. Jackson Mix and Tyler Martin each had two RBIs to finish the season as Emiliano Curiel-Montijo and Martin each had a double for Oahe. Aiden Johnson would get the win going five innings allowing just one run on four hits, three walks and two strikeouts.

Oahe finishes the season at 15-37 which won’t be good enough to make the championship series. The championship series is set to begin on Tuesday in Casper.
