The Oahe Zap would get three runs in the bottom of the seventh and hold the Spearfish Sasquatch scoreless in the final two frames for a 6-5 win Monday night at Hyde Stadium.
Leandro Guevara would break the tie with a two out single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Zap the lead. It came after a two out error extended the inning and scored the first of three runs. Noah Wiggins would double to tie the game prior to Guevara’s hit. Jake Hutter pitched both the seventh and eighth innings to get the win allowing one run on three hits and a walk. Kayden Shivers would allow just a hit in the ninth inning for the three out save. Cole Ottersberg would also double and Guevara had a triple as both were the only with two hits. It’s the second straight win for the Zap having to come back from a deficit in the last three innings.
The winning streak improves to six in a row for Oahe and are now 8-6 in the second half of the season. Oahe is trying to catch the Fremont Moo who are 12-4 in the second half of the season and Spearfish who are 10-4 looking to make the league championship series at the end of the year. The Zap and Sasquatch will take the day off Tuesday, before continuing the series on Wednesday with first pitch at Hyde Stadium set for 6:05.
