Another big doubleheader is on tap for Pierre Post 8 as the Eights will travel to Sioux Falls area for the first of three times this week, taking on Sioux Falls West today.
The Eights are 6-13 in South Dakota games and are closing in on clinching a spot in the playoffs which will be in a week and a half. Pierre potentially needs just one more win to guarantee a spot in the playoffs this season. However, with still six games remaining, plenty of wins can bring a high quality playoff spot and a better chance at making the state tournament. The Eights face West today, a team above them in the standings sitting at 9-13 in South Dakota games and in ninth place. Pierre faces both West and Brandon Valley in the first two doubleheaders this week, the two teams right above them in the standings as the Eights sit in 11th place.
