The South Dakota High School rodeo championships will take place in Ft. Pierre starting on Tuesday as the championships will run through Saturday with the awards being handed out Saturday night and a breakfast for All-State award winners and families along with national qualifying meeting on Sunday.
At the Stanley County Fairgrounds, the first event of the state rodeo finals will be the Rodeo Queen contestant interviews at 2:00 and then the horsemanship competition at 3:00. The interview will happen at Expo Center and the competition at the Grossenburg Arena. Then at 4:00 there will be the first go-round for girls and boys cutting along with reined cow horse which will follow cutting. Registration and check in will happen from 1:00-4:00.
Days begin at 8:00 on Wednesday, 8:15 on Thursday, 8:00 on Friday and 8:30 on Saturday. Friday night, the SDHSRA will have its 75th anniversary rodeo performance which will take place shortly after the crowning of the queen.
